Audio narration for younger readers building independence.

Educator Free Access

Homeschool parents qualify for free educator accounts with unlimited reading.

Reading Tracking

What It's Best For

Building a reading habit. Epic's library is deep enough that every child finds something they love. The "read-to-me" feature helps struggling readers, while the variety keeps voracious readers engaged.

Supplementing your home library. Instead of buying dozens of books your child might read once, Epic gives unlimited access to a rotating selection. Great for research projects and topic deep-dives too.

How We Use It

Epic replaced our weekly library trips for everyday reading. Our kids still visit the library for special books, but Epic handles the "I finished my book, what next?" problem. The educator account gives us unlimited access at no cost.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is Epic! really free for homeschool?

Epic offers free educator accounts for homeschool parents, though access terms have changed over time. Sign up with your homeschool information and you should qualify for free unlimited reading during school hours.

What age range does Epic! cover?

Epic is designed for kids 12 and under, roughly preschool through 6th grade. The selection is strongest for elementary-age readers. For older kids, consider your local library's digital options or Kindle Unlimited.

Can Epic! replace the library for homeschool?

Epic supplements but does not fully replace a library. It is great for everyday reading and quick access, but physical libraries offer a wider selection, community programs, and the experience of choosing physical books.
